MUSICAL ENTERTAINMENT

BOB PLUNKERT
Sat. July 26, 7 pm

In an era of imitations and sound a likes, there comes a refreshing change to the world of country music. Bob Plunkert has gained respect and popularity in performing traditional country music—a genre of music featured by few but requested by many.

Traditional influence from artists such as Ricky Skaggs, Ray Price, George Jones and Johnny Bush is evident in Bob’s music. Thanks to a background in country, bluegrass and gospel, the format featured by Bob and the band has become a favorite at fairs and conventions. Dancers have come to appreciate the blend of two-stepping shuffles along with traditional country ballads. Bob and the band have shared the stage with national artists such as: MARTINA MCBRIDE, PATTY LOVELESS, DIAMOND RIO, GENE WATSON, JAN HOWARD, JOHN ANDERSON, SHENANDOAH, RHETT AKINS, JEFF CARSON, BARBARA FAIRCHILD, MIKE SNIDER and others!!
In addition to vocals, Bob contributes bass, banjo and acoustic guitar to the show. Prior to forming the Real Country Band, Bob studied 5-string banjo with Tom Adams—3-time IBMA banjo instrumentalist of the year and former member of Jimmy Martin’s Sunny Mountain Boys and the Johnson Mountain Boys. In 1994, Bob formed the group ‘Real Country’ and has since enjoyed a large and loyal group of fans that have embraced the traditional country music featured by Bob and the band. In October 2001, Bob released a self-produced solo recording project entitled Your Old Standby. In October 2004, he released a new recording produced in Nashville TN by Grand Ole Opry Announcer Eddie Stubbs; entitled Something Called Happiness. In addition to a busy show schedule in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and surrounding areas, the success of Something Called happiness has made it possible for Bob to appear on the Ernest Tubb Midnight Jamboree in Nashville TN and various venues throughout central Texas. In 2005 the new release appeared on the Kickin’ Cuts music charts, as published in Country Music People Magazine – a London, England publication.   Visit Bob's Website: www.BobPlunkert.com

THE CRAMER BROTHERS

Mon. July 28, 7 pm

If you’re foot stompin’, hand clappin’ and having a great time, you must be listening to the “CRAMER BROTHERS BAND.” They are an outstanding country music show based in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Eastern Pennsylvania. They have become one of the premiere acts in country music.  Six multi-talented musicians perform contemporary country, classic country and bluegrass music that will provide entertainment for all ages.

The late Ron Cramer, the proud father of Ray and Randy Cramer, originally formed the Cramer Brothers Band.  Ron, who played fiddle and sang, passed his country music talent on to his two sons who began performing with him when Ray was 12 and Randy was 10. Ray and Randy spent many years performing with their father and soon became the Pocono Mountains’ most in-demand country band.

Along the way, Randy went off to win three Pennsylvania State Fiddle Championships before he was 14!  Randy has previously been offered to tour with Aaron Tippin, Faith Hill and Ray Price.

The brothers then went on to help form the band, “SHUCKS.” They spent several years with Shucks, performing all over Pennsylvania and surrounding states. The group recorded several albums and received worldwide radio airplay.  When Shucks disbanded in the early 90’s, the brothers decided to re-form the Cramer Brothers Band for Ray and Randy to show off their vocal and instrumental talents.

The Cramer Brothers Band has been providing great music and fun for people at country music clubs, fairs, festivals and concerts for more than a decade. The band is available for any function that requires a musical organization, which displays professionalism, enthusiasm, talent and charisma.

The Cramer Brothers Band have appeared with various Nashville acts, including Merle Haggard, George Jones, George Strait, Willie Nelson, Ronnie Millsap, Gary Morris, Vern Gosdin, Ricky Van Shelton, Ray Stevens, Brenda Lee, Buddy Emmons, Hank Thompson, The Osmond’s, Grandpa Jones, Gene Watson, Mickey Gilley, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Janie Frickie, Jerry Lee Lewis, Faith Hill and many more.    Visit their website:  www.CramerBrothersBand.com

THE NOMADS

From Lancaster County, The Nomads have been together about four years, bring back memories with oldies and doo-wop tunes from the 50s and 60s.  With their fast growing popularity, they have been entertaining fans at carnivals, car shows and many other functions.

The band consists of four very talented members.  They are: Bobby Jeffries on lead vocals and guitar, Butch Meckley on vocals and rhythm guitar, Donny Meckley on vocals and bass, and, last but not least, Rick Macauley, Sr., on vocals and drums.  One of the biggest joys for the band is the audience.  Meeting people and having them dance, reminisce and just have a good time is the main reason these guys do what they do.
